DrivingFrom DC the drive to Asheville is 7 hours. Recommend taking 66W to 81S almost all the way there. This will take you through the Blue Ridge mountains at the end of your drive. Very
scenic. |
FlyingUnfortunately, there are very few major airports close to Asheville since it is in the mountains. It has a tiny airport that you may be able to fly direct from places like BWI. Most folks will fly into Charlotte, NC and rent a car (2 hr drive). You can also fly into Knoxville, TN (2 hr drive) or Greenville, SC (1 hour drive). Alternatively, you can ride a giant raven like Ray Lewis #awesome.

UberBeing an awesome town, of course Asheville has Uber! We highly recommend downloading their app and utilizing their cab service while in town. This makes getting around Asheville a breeze and negates the need to stay downtown in more expensive lodging.
